Meet Wendy Kimbro, the new Graham Branch Manager!

We are pleased to announce that long time library employee, Wendy Kimbro, has been promoted to the position of Branch Manager of the Graham Public Library.  Many will recognize her as one of the friendly faces at the Graham Public Library and we are excited to see in her new role.

Graham, but I was born in Germany

What are you most passionate about?
Reading

Do you have a hobby?
Bad knitting

When you were little, what was your dream job?
Mortician

What was the best part of your week/weekend?
My niece

If your life was a song, what would the title be?
Dance like no ones watching

Are you involved in any community projects or organizations?
Book groups

What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

It comes from the ocean, but it is not fish (translation) Chile

What’s your favorite TV Show?
The Walking Dead

What is your favorite thing to spend money on?
Books (until I realized I could borrow them not have to own them)

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned recently?
In my new position, I have learned a lot, not sure if its interesting

What are you plans for the future of the Graham Library?
To have the library more engaged in the community.

Susana Goldman Hired as Director for Alamance Libraries

Susana GoldmanAt the Board of Commissioners’ Meeting held on May 6, 2019, County Manager Bryan Hagood announced Susana Goldman as Director for Alamance County Libraries.

Susana Goldman has been with Alamance Libraries since February of 2014 when she was hired as May Memorial Branch Manager. In 2016, Goldman was promoted to Associate Director of Operations where she became responsible for all library branches and staff. Since December, Susana has also served as Interim Director while continuing her responsibilities as Associate Director of Operations. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Journalism from the University of Iowa.

Assistant County Manager Bruce Walker expressed his appreciation for all her work throughout these last few months. “Since December, Susana has more than embraced her role as interim director by providing direction and support to our library employees. We are very excited that she has agreed to continue working as director and look forward to supporting her leadership as she leads our libraries.”

“It is an honor to step into the role of library director, and I am excited to work closely with our Friends of the Library Board, Library Committee, staff, and our residents in order to continue offering relevant and engaging library services and programs within our community,” said Goldman.
